Salvatore Ferragamo started out as a shoe repairer and creator of made-to-measure footwear in 1927. He later went on to design shoes for films and celebrities, which led him to establish his own fashion brand. By the 1950s, the brand had expanded to include footwear, clothing, and accessories such as bags, eyewear, and fragrance.

In 1998, Ferragamo launched their first fragrance, Salvatore Ferragamo for women. By 2001, Ferragamo Parfums was established as a dedicated division for the brand's fragrance line.
